On July 24, 2024, Ms. Anna Toni, Member of the CCICED and Climate Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Climate of Brazil, along with her delegation, visited FECO to exchange views on relevant topics. Mr. Li Yonghong, Deputy Secretary General of the CCICED and Deputy Director General of FECO, extended a warm welcome to Ms. Anna Toni and her delegation. He provided an overview of FECO’s operations, with a particular focus on the recent progress of the CCICED and the upcoming key activities.

The two sides held discussions on topics such as Brazil’s hosting of the 30th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP30) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the G20 Leaders’ Summit, and South-South cooperation.

Ms. Anna Toni expressed her high appreciation for China’s efforts and measures in recent years to promote the implementation of the dual-carbon goals. She also spoke positively of the CCICED’s active role in strengthening global cooperation in the fields of environment and sustainable development. She looks forward to the CCICED playing an active role at next year’s COP30 and hopes to further deepen cooperation with other relevant departments of FECO.
