Mr. Huang Runqiu, Minister of Ecology and Environment of China Meets with Mr. Dennis Francis, President of the United Nations General Assembly

On January 30, Mr. Huang Runqiu, Minister of Ecology and Environment of China met in Beijing with Mr. Dennis Francis, President of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, during his visit to China. The two sides held in-depth exchanges on topics including climate change response and biodiversity protection.

  
Minister Huang Runqiu outlined the practical measures and significant achievements China has made in addressing climate change and enhancing biodiversity protection. He stated that China, as a responsible major developing country, is committed to safeguarding the UN-centered international system, practicing true multilateralism, upholding the common interests of developing countries, actively promoting South-South cooperation on climate change, and jointly advancing the implementation of the Global Development Initiative.
  
Mr. Francis highly appreciated China's important contributions to promoting global environmental and climate governance. He expressed his willingness to continue strengthening cooperation with China in areas such as addressing climate change and protecting biodiversity to jointly tackle global challenges.
